Lina-Maternity in the desert
I met up with the sweet and beautiful Lina to photograph her maternity photos at a gorgeous resort where the desert landscape was just breathtaking. Her ever so sweet husband Jake was there helping in any way he can.
I'm loving this time of year where i'm able to take clients outdoors to shoot.
They are expecting a little girl and since she's their firstborn/ first grandchild on her side of the family, everyone is a wee bit excited!!
The little princess is due to arrive very soon~

Back From Imaging
I'm behind once again in blogging.
What have I done in the last week?
I've spent 4 days at the Imaging convention here in Phoenix where I got to see old friends, meet new friends, and put a face and a voice to the ones I've been communicating with online.
Its been a fabulous week full of intense information, inspiration, and creativity. Classes that were among my favorites included Jen Hillenga in regards to awesome ideas on marketing, and Hansen Fong's class in regards to posing for weddings. Another favorite was Kevin Kubota's class on 10 extraordinary photographers and how they got there. Where I want to be! Examples were Bambi Cantrell and Yervant. (http://bambi.bigfolioblog.com/)
I also had the opportunity, along with 5500 other photographers, to go see Anne Geddes one night. I don't want to know everyone's life story, but somehow I truly enjoyed knowing hers. Back in the early 80's, she said she was standing with her husband in Sydney by the water one night after dinner, looked up into the stars, and said "I'm going to be the top childrens photographer in the world." And by the way, she wasn't a photographer at all when she made that promise.
She is incredible and I left wanting to photograph babies inside flowers!!
I am the kind of person that wants everything Yesterday. So I left the convention on fire, on edge, inspired and ready to conquer the world.
Conventions and seminars are a great way to get out there, network, and keep up with the latest and greatest things out there. I try to do 2 a year.
Anyway, I'll leave you with a picture of me and my girlfriends Carrie and Tanja while we went out shooting in dowtown Phoenix one aftertoon with a few other photographers as well. We're a cheap date @ 3 for a $1. :D
Look out for some sexy boudoir images coming up this week~

Grandmother's hands
My grandmother is 86 yrs old and every year when she visits from Illinois, I try to make the most out of her visit since I never know when it might be the last time I see her.....keeping in mind that she's vastly approaching her 90's.
She's an incredible woman and someone I've admired my entire life, whose strength and class is like no other.
I've wanted to do something different rather than the traditional pose we have so many of......
I wanted to photograph my grandomother's hands along with her grandchildrens hands (me and my siblings) for a couple of years now.
Of course, the time is never right.
So a few days ago, I told her of my idea to blow up an image on my wall of just her hands alone.
She smiled then proudly arranged her hands in a few different positions and I snapped away.
This one below was my favorite.
So......I will mount a 16x20 and put it on MY wall, proudly displaying my grandmothers 86 yr old hands that have done so much work, given so much love, and have not stopped just yet.
A few weeks ago, I had a client session where I photographed a large extended family. I did this with the grandmother and all of her grandchildren. (No relation).

If you're grandmother or grandfather is still alive, this might not be a bad idea. ;)
