You need TIME.
This post has over 70 images ( I swear i tried my hardest to narrow them down!!) and thats just from Saturday.
Sunday's reception is coming up next week.
So this is what you need to know:
I've been working with a wedding planner here in Phoenix (a friend of mine, Parveen) for the last year on a stunning South Asian wedding guide coming out this week in Phoenix and L.A. I've helped design it and I'm thrilled that it's in print right now, because not only am I advertised in it, but the circulation goes to the entire United States b y the end of the year..... and yours truly (that would be me) is going to continue destination wedding photography! :D
I don't have to sell you on my love for photographing the Indian culture, you know my life story, where I've been and where i want to go.
So I came across Baz Kanda, (www.fiveriversstudio.com) a VERY talented photographer in the Ottawa/Toronto area, a few months back. We had discussed my trip to India and small talked about doing an Indian wedding in the near future. After seeing his remarkable work, I jumped at the opportunity to work with him. I wanted more experience in photographing Indian weddings and I told him I wanted to do Jimmy's and Dripan's with him after I saw the engagement pictures. Such a cute couple!
I LOVED Jimmy and Dripan's wedding.
It was very much a fairy tale wedding, showing up on the horse holding his sword before walking into the gurudwara (sikh temple).
The family values, traditions, the vibrant culture, the delicious food (I hadn't really had any since last summer) and the whole ambience overall were like nothing I've ever witnessed.
Just to see the bride and her whole family walk down the aisle together was spectacular, rather than just her or just her and her dad.
Same for groom and his family. Everything revolves around 'family.'
Truly a blessing.
I know I mentioned this before, but incase you forgot, 900 peeps were invited.
I've attended many, many weddings...I don't live under a rock, i assure you. But this one by far exceeded my expectations and the beautiful couple and their families made me feel 100% passionate about the entire day.
Even though i was ready to collapse at the end.
Baz, Thank you for a great opportunity to work with you my friend, I truly had a blast!
Jimmy and Dripan, I wish you a happy and prosperous life together, thank you for having me be a part of you big day!
